Dental X-Rays: They are vital for detecting decay, cysts, tumors, and bone loss. X-rays also help identify tooth and root positions.
Gum disease evaluation: We will thoroughly check the gums and bones around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease.
Inspection for tooth decay: All tooth surfaces will be carefully checked for decay with special dental tools.
Oral cancer screening: A detailed assessment of the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums is conducted to look for any signs of oral cancer.
Examination of existing restorations: Check the current condition of restorations such as fillings, crowns, etc.
Professional dental cleanings are routinely carried out at our dental office by our experienced staff. During your dental cleaning appointment, the following could be performed:
Removal of tartar (calculus): Tartar is hardened plaque accumulated on the tooth for over a period and is now solidly attached to the tooth surface. The tartar develops above and below the gum line and can only be removed with special dental tools.
Removal of plaque: Plaque is a nearly invisible but sticky film that forms on the teeth. It is a growing colony of active bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins that erode the enamel and inflame the gums. This inflammation is the beginning stage of gum disease.
Teeth polishing: The stains and plaque are extracted that otherwise cannot be removed during regular tooth brushing and flossing.
